I Forgot to Be Famous by Almie Rose

thought-catalog-store11What do you do when your ex leaves you for his A-list actress ex girlfriend? How do you land a musician boyfriend? What’s it like to make a total jackass of yourself when you meet that actor you’ve had a crush on for years? What would When Harry Met Sally… look like in 2013? These questions and more are answered and explored by Almie Rose in I FORGOT TO BE FAMOUS, essays and how-to’s about dating, relationships and living in Los Angeles.

I read this book all in one sitting and giggled like a school girl the entire way through. Almie writes with the kind of honesty you’d get from your best friend- you’ll laugh, cry and relive your most awkward moments. This is a must-read!

Before you download your own copy, I thought it would be fun to get to know the lady behind the book…

Here are 10 Things About Almie:

What is your signature dish?

A martini. Okay, fine, pasta with avocado sauce. You simply cook the pasta, mash up avocado with olive oil, sea salt, and pepper in a bowl (sometimes I add a splash of fresh lemon juice or lemon pepper) and then combine the pasta with the avocado mash. Sooooo good. Also steak, cooked rare, in a red wine glaze

A makeup/beauty product you can’t live without?

Red lipstick. I think MAC’s “Russian Red” might be my fave.

Best date spot in LA?

Depends on the date. But you can’t go wrong with Figaro Bistrot in Los Feliz. Best happy hour = best date.

Whats the most important part of a relationship?

Communication.

A thing you wish girls would stop doing?

Analyzing texts like we’re analyzing the Kennedy assassination. We gotta stop reading into things so much.

A song that instantly makes you cry?

“She’s Leaving Home” by The Beatles. Always.

Your guilty pleasure on TV?

“The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.” But I feel no personal shame or guilt about this.

What inspired you to write this book?

Thought Catalog asked me, “Wanna write a book for us?” And I said yes.

Where can we see more of you?

You can always find me on my blog, Apocalypstick. I frequently write for Thought Catalog and Hello Giggles and tweet my little heart out (@apocalypstick).
