We are in such a weird little phase of life right now. With two little ones (one of which depends on me for feedings), going out after dinner doesn’t really happen these days. To be honest, there are nights where we just want to hang with other adults and have a good time! Our solution is bringing the party to us with couple game nights. We put the little ones to bed, sneak some friends in, put out some junk food and play board games. Whoop whoop!
I’m notorious for shushing guests after bedtime (sorry, I’ll never change)- but our new favorite game makes it really hard to stay quiet…even for me. It’s so fun!
Codenames: Deep Undercover is an adults-only, mature version of Codenames using the same popular game mechanics, but introduces all-new words, packaging, “by-standers” and art. A new twist is added with the inclusion of blank cards, allowing players to introduce their own words to the game (which is hilarious). The gameplay remains the same, where each team has a spymaster looking at a key card, gives their team a one-word clue and a number to locate their team’s words- but the adult content will have you laughing like a teenage boy.
This version is perfect for bachelor/bachelorette parties, couples date nights in, or game night at the local bar! It’s a super fun group game for any adult occasion really; I can’t wait to take it to Christmas this year and play after the kids conk out.
Pulling out games and laughing with my friends and husband makes me so happy. It’s something I want to do more. So often we get sucked into the rut of technology, and this is where the real fun’s at! Life is stressful, we need to laugh a lot more (just not loud enough to wake my kids).
